Photograhing Your Daughter is Easy When She's so Beautiful

I love that my daughter is always so willing to pose for me!  She's been my test subject while I was in school, my subject when I needed to build my portfolio, and my subject when I just feel like photographing her because she's beautiful.  I never grow tired of seeing images of my family around my house, at my desk, or on my computer screen.  I encourage all of you to get out your cameras and start snapping away!  Don't let those moments slip away.

Last week I blogged about my trip to Cedar Creek Ranch and Vineyards.  Well I took my daughter along with me and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a few shots of her in the beautiful surroundings of the vineyard.  I sure wish that the vineyard wasn't so far away.  I would love to be able to shoot my seniors and families there.  There is just something special about that place.

So thank you to my daughter for always being willing to model for me.  And thank you to Karen and Ginger for creating such a special place.

If you need me to photograph your high school seniors, your families or your events, please give me a call at (951) 206-6863 or you can reach me via my website at:

Northern California Wines - Cedar Creek Ranch and Vineyards

Wine, beautiful landscape, and family make for a very peaceful weekend at Cedar Creek Ranch and Vineyards which is located in Mount Aukum in Northern California.  The owners, Karen and Ginger, have created a little slice of paradise at the Ranch with their love of family, wine, and animals.  I've never felt so welcome anywhere, ever!

I was given the opportunity by Karen and Ginger to photograph the Annual Release Party that they were hosting to showcase the new releases of their wine.  The new releases that were being sampled that day were the 2012 Petite Sirah, 2012 Syrah, 2013 Viognier, and 2012 Sangiovese.  I couldn't have asked for a better day than being able to drink wine and take pictures!!  There was much laughter and fellowship that day and I was very thankful to be able to be a part of it and I can't wait to go back again!

Here is a link to their website if you'd like to try out some of their delicious wine:

Memorial Day Tribute

In keeping with my Heroes theme from my blog last week, today and this weekend I want to honor all those individuals who have gave the ultimate sacrifice to bring us freedom.  There are so many fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, sons and daughters who have willingly put themselves in harms way to ensure that we have the freedoms that many of us take for granted everyday.  I pray this weekend and everyday that those left behind could know how much I appreciate the sacrifice that their loved one has made.  I can't imagine what the families who are left behind are going through, and I pray that I never have to find out.  So I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your sacrifice for me and my family.  And for those who are still serving, I pray for your safety and that you will someday soon come home to your families.  God Bless each and every one of you!!

Capturing Memories of a Special Group of Kids - Rhonda Samuels Photography

Did you ever have the opportunity to give something to someone and end up being the one who is blessed in the return?  That is exactly what happened to me when I was asked by the Fire and Burn Foundation to be the photographer for Embers of Hope Youth Camp.  I arrived at camp the first year with the mindset that it was just a job.  Little did I know that I was going to meet an amazing group of volunteers, and an even more amazing group of kids.  These kids are burn survivors and have been through more than any human being should ever have to go through.  Yet they had the best attitudes and personalities and I was continually amazed over that 4-day weekend at how strong they all were.

A group of the young adult survivors are even in training to be counselors when they turn 21.  They will be giving back what was once given to them.  That is simply awe-inspiring!

I got to know most of the adult counselors who are there volunteering their time, some for years, to these kids.  Their sole purpose for the weekend was to lend support to these kids and make sure that they had an experience that they will never forget.

I hope that I will be able to continue to be a part of this wonderful group of people for many years to come.  They are truly a blessing and I look forward to next year!
